Ever since I was a little girl, I've wanted to work in an airplane. It started off wanting to be a pilot, until I went into high school, took a look at my scar-ridden legs from falling over my own feet and realised pilots probably needed to have an ounce of co-ordination. So it shifted to being a flight attendant. It's on my bucket list to do that funky stewardess safety demonstration dance and be all politeness and smiles...for one year of my life. So, it's happening - a year after I graduate, I'll be directing you to your seat and hoping that the plane doesn't go into a crisis - because everyone's screwed if they look to me for an encouraging bastion of calm and control...I'll be the first to stick my head between my knees and breathe rapidly into a paper bag.
The point of the story was, this is my dreams of being a pilot, a flight attendant and a librarian all mashed in one jumble of clothing - the loafers representing bookish pursuits, the leather jacket a nod to my flighty aspirations of youth and the silk scarf a reminder of turbulent flight attending times ahead (hopefully). In other words, this is what I wore to day numero uno of MBFWA. It doesn't flatter my figure very well, but you know what they say on hip-hop centric Tumblrs filled with images of sex and Rihanna...#YOLO #YOLO #YOLO #YOLO.

Connie from K is for Kani and I FINALLY FREAKIN' MET. We've been following each other since we started blogging so it felt like I had already known her half my internet life when our paths finally collided. She is super sweet and has a serious love for red phone booths and macaroons. There was also a tiny nest in her hair. I was expecting birds to fly in my face at any moment I was speaking to her.
