I haven't had a chance to wear this cute scalloped satin bustier out so I thought Vinh and I would have a little fun by dressing up a tutu that's been long forgotten at the depths of my unorganised and overfilled closet. It turns out that university is no place for an ill-fitting thrifted child's dress-turned-tutu (or IS IT? It's not like I've cared what people have thought of my sometimes inappropriate get-up for uni yet...watch this space).

Wild Hearts is a small label with a big heart. Started by Theresa a good friend from high school, who is MY AGE. MY AGE. MY. AGE. She's undergoing a Bachelor of Fashion Design at UTS and for as long as I've known her she's been a little crafty - she made all her formal dresses and her work for Design & Technology included a dress made out of CDS, amongst other things. CDS. You know someone is talented when they can make a dress out of CDs.

P.S. Doesn't my title remind you of the Sex & the City finale when Carrie does the whole "Your girl is lovely, Hubble" thing? And then she talks about running around wild and taming horses and all that.




A Dalmation we spotted in the middle of shooting! Legitimately wanted to hop on its back and ride home instead of risking destroying my beautiful shoes on the uneven park dirt ground.

Was it hard to start up your own label? What are some of the problems involved?
It was pretty hard, because it's my first go - so this has been trial and error. I've done a few internships so I get the gist of how it works behind the scenes, althought it was still hard to do everything by myself -I had to juggle uni, social life, sleeping and this. I'm lucky that I have really supportive friends - everyone was willing to help out.

What are your future plans?
Studying at UTS atm, after I graduate I'd like to move to London for a bit and hopefully get some experience there and go to Central Saint Martins and hopefully I can get a British accent while I"m there - and a British boy, I think i'd be quite a novelty - little Asian with Aussie accent, maybe I'll have better luck there.





So what are you up to, right now?
Designing my final collection this semester. Based on flappers on the 1920s and taking on the concept of The Beautiful and Damned, taking on concepts on decadence and corruption, and luxury and decay - those kinds of juxtapositions.

What are you doing RIGHT NOW, at this very momemt?
I'm lounging on this chair my dad recently bought, the button is on the side and the leg thing goes out and you can fall asleep and massaging the back of my neck. That's a really boring answer, I should say something like I'm about to go on a date with a really tall guy...with an English accent....a lot of stubble, that's important....and a tattoo...and a motorbike. And he's reallly well dressed.
