Did you miss me?

I'm finally attending to the black whole of inactivity, laziness and neglect that is my blog. I'm sorry I disappeared on you guys for a while there, and please do know that your e-mails, Formspring questions and Twitter mentions all got to me and did sort of give me that last little push I needed to get my blogging cap on again and get down to business. I was busy, basically. Busy, and lazy.

I sort of had a bit of time to reflect and re-evaluate what this blog is about, and I feel like the quality of my posts and my writing has steadily decreased exponentially (not that I'm ever revisiting the nightmare that is maths). So, I'm going to try my best to pour myself back into my little crease of the internet and blog regularly. And by regularly, I'm serious. I'll be all up in your Bloglovin/Google Friend Connect's grill. I'm teaming up with an incredible photographer (he didn't take these photos, he's starting next outfit post!) so I don't have an excuse not to take outfit photos. So, you know, break out the pinata and party hats.

Now that the house keeping is all done and dusted and swept away (my blinding wit and my grasp on puns and the English language never fails to amaze me), on to the rest.

In short, my life has been taken over by my internship, my continually pathetic attempts at securing some sort of job, and my family.

My internship is at a lovely little family-run company called Gazal which houses brands like Calvin Klein undies, Davenport, Lovable, Trent Nathan, Van Heusen and Pierre Cardin. It actually came about because Justine - one of my lovely bosses, spotted me on Lookbook and emailed me asking if I was interested about an intern position. I am incredibly lucky, and interning at Gazal has been amazing so far. It's all very hands on and unlike anything that I expected (any expectations from watching The Devil Wears Prada), I have not done a single coffee run, or been made to find a first edition copy of Harry Potter. Not to mention the fact that having to wake up at 6am and having my own ~desk~ makes me feel slightly important.

Looking for a job has been a bit weird. I applied for a receptionist position at a 'massage parlour', except the kind of massages that this place provides results in a happy ending. And I'm not talking about the kind of happy endings you see in Disney fairytales, either. Lo and behold, there is a high possibility I'll be employed at a brothel near you sometime in the immediate future. When I joked around in maths class in high school and wrote "Fuck maths, I'm going to become a prostitute" on all those practice exams - I didn't realise it would mutate from words on a page to a sort of weird reality.

Trench Coat: Birthday gift.
Red skirt: Altered vintage skirt from eBay (first ever purchase from eBay!)
Shoes: Thrifted.
Belt: Thrifted
My friend's foot in the first photo: Jessica G. ("Are these going on your blog? Can my foot be in the background? All sexy like? Like it's making love this leaf?)
Snood: K-Mart.
Photos: Somewhere, Someday

This is not a spectacularly amazing outfit, but it was on my dirty, unwashed body for two days straight. Waking up at 6am does things to your judgement, and I thought it'd be a good idea to wear a skirt with a broken top button because it was red, and it was Valentine's Day.

I just inhaled half a box of Ferroro Rocher chocolates and I've just run out of steam for today. See you in a few days time, everyone! I hope you had a lovely Valentine's filled with public displays of affection, cute little text messages, long hugs from friends and a few sullen 'Fuck Valentine's Day' declarations. See you in a few days. :-)

P.S. If you ever get the chance to, watch Flipped and Four Lions\. Four Lions was just about one of the best satires I've ever watched.

P.P.S. Check out this little collage a lovely girl put together for me. She sent me an e-mail and even filmed a little video addressing me and saying all these lovely things, so thank you, Amber.
