Checkmate.

Cardigan: Thrifted, Skirt: Thrifted, Belt: Thrifted, Fake docs: K-Mart, Satchel: Thrifted, Socks: My dad's, My face: barely any sleep

I spent the majority of yesterday chillin' with Shirley Cai [most of you will remember her as creator of Thomas & Lola (upcoming short film) and photography extroadinaire]. I sat through a couple of auditions for T&L, rummaged through a few thrift stores (leaving with the most magnificent sequinned robe-like thing which makes me feel like a disco wizard and all sorts of funky), melted a few times in what seems to be a teaser for the upcoming Australia summer, ate a few McD's cones, watched a few thousand episodes of Monk, and spent the rest of the day playing dress ups with the most intense thigh high hooker boots and listening to Little Red. My life: it's exciting.

I finished my HSC on Friday, and all I have planned now is 4 gloriously empty months stretching ahead of me, hopefully filled with as many McDonald's cones as my poor stomach can handle. Happiness may not be free, but you most certainly can buy it for $0.50c from a clown wearing lipstick. I am back, and I will get back to all your e-mails (fartssica@gmail.com) as soon as humanly possible (that is, after I drink a few gallons of chocolate milk and sleep for a few thousand years).

I changed the layout too. Although this layout has less character, i tried to make it cleaner and easier on your eyes. I don't know about you, but I was getting kind of tired of having my header poop deers and legs and astronauts and beavers in band uniforms and shit all over my face. Let me know what you think :-).

P.S. The Social Network. I did not expect it to be so well done, on paper it sounds like absolute shit - 2 hours of a bunch of dudes making Facebook and getting sued over it. It was less PHP and more INTENSE, INTENSE DRAMA. Who knew that website programming was so rock 'n' roll.

And for the Sydney-ians, PITT ST MALL IS SUCH A LET DOWN. It was dimmer than the brain of a bovine animal and the layout of the place was confusing as fuck. I think they were so focused on installing as many shitty 7.5-watt lighting panels as they possible and making it like a goddamn maze at the same time. Or maybe I was just thrown off by the amount of breathing human beings in there. Being jostled around by frenzied shoppers isn't fun. I think I'll stick to eBay. But just the sight of Zara's logo caused heart palpitations, I. Am. So. Excited.

YEEEEEEEEEEESS YOU'RE BACK! I ALMOST FELL OFF MY CHAIR OUT OF EXCITEMENT. HOPE THE HSC WENT OKAY AND YOU MAXXED THAT ATAR!

p.s. our new layout feels a bit corporate. it's okay, but the older one suited you better. x

First thing I though was great header! and then I saw that black sequined thing, love love it. I'm dreaming of summer and chocolate milk too :) Melbourne isn't giving me any sneak preview though, rain here :(

I think I like the character in your old layout better. It was really distinct and really made your blog stand out. The new one is not too shabby either.

You've inspired me to pull out my own thigh highs for more wear this fall. Sweet.

The layout is cute! It's easier to navigate, though.

I love the plaid skirt. It reminds me of a Rubik's Cube! And the sequined robe is awesome. It kind of reminds me of Dumbledore, haha. He'd totally wear that.

I know how others say they prefer the old layout, but this one suits your character too! Just another aspect of it. Besides, the juxtaposition between your quirky writing and the clean layout is too good to pass up :) Good job.

Once Zara opens I think I'll most definitely be making a trip (monthly trips?) to Sydney for some Euro chain store action. I find most of the popular malls to be quite dull. It's the same here in Brisbane. I was a bit iffy about The Social Network, but I might be more tempted to see it now. And I need to get the new Little Red album. Mmm priorities.

Your clusterfuck of a rainbow-pooping header will be missed! Those thigh-high boots are gold. GOLD.

Feel free to spend the next 4 months sitting in front of a TV/ocean/crumpets like I did when I did my HSC. It'll be a long while before you have it this good again! YAY FOR FINISHING!!

Congrats on finishing :) :)
