At the best of times my memory is limited to the vague geographic location of my present being, so, trying to hoard together everything that happened this year would be ridiculously fucking stupid. This year, I started the year off with the resolution to Have More Adventures. The sad thing is, I don't even remember if that worked out or not.
All I know is that I STILL haven't gotten my license, my bank account is still clutching only $2.19 and I still don't have a skinny jeans, Beatles band shirt-clad, sunflower-picking, thrift-scavenging ripped as fuck indie boy holding my hand and hanging off my every word. Well, that's what 2010 is for, right?
Looking back on the past decade, the noughties, well, we haven't had much fashion wise to account for the past ten years, have we? Really, the 2000's have been about ripping shit off from the previous decades, leggings, tight jeans, crotchet, leather, studs, red lips, tie dye, harem pants (which I've only recently started to realise the intense comfort of, and they're on their way out already noooooooooooo), the list goes on. So before I end up rambling forevs and get a late start on my NYE plans, I'll stop here.
How I'll remember 2009: Good friends, new friends, second last year of school, three years until the Mayan calendar declares we're all going to fucking die, Obama, school work, Tumblr, and Glee.
I'm planning to go thrifting for the last time for '09 in about 10 minutes, speed off to work and make my last coffees for '09, hang out at the park with buddies for the last time in '09, and have my last party for '09. And that isn't as amazing as it sounds. I wasn't, in the end, allowed to go out, so I'm making my friend come over to my place and we're going to have a little party of our own - in my bedroom. Dressing up, dancing and all. It will be hardcore. Have a lovely and safe NYE everyone, see you in the next decade :)
